The kind folks at Colorland sent me one of their premium Starbooks to review and I was thoroughly delighted because I’m far too lazy to print out my own photos and make a photo album.
In this post I’m going to go through why I think photo books are such a great idea, I will review the Starbook and I’ll even give you a discount code in case you feel like creating your own Starbook. OK, let’s go.
Why I Love Photobooks
I’m always travelling and taking so many photos. Some I post on social media, but the majority just sit on my phone to be forgotten about until I’m wildly bored and resort to scrolling through my phone.
I used to love making scrap books and photo albums but now printing photos and sticking them into a book feels very time consuming and fiddly. It’s so much easier to do it the digital way.
With photo books you’re not worried about photos falling out or being damaged. Everything is nice and neat and glossy and they can still sit on shelf of a coffee table and look just as pretty if not prettier than a handmade album.
About the Starbook
The Starbook is Colorland’s premium photo book offering. I ordered mine in A4 Vertical but you can also order it in A4 landscape, 20×20 and 30×30.
Here are a few of the Starbook features:
– from 28 to 160 pages
– snow white glossy 205g/m2 paper with a noticeable texture
– glossy or matt-laminated hard cover
– clear details and realistic colour imaging
– sponge padded cover
– printed on an innovative, ink printer
As far as photo books go, this is certainly on the fancy end of the spectrum. Ok, so now you know the details, let’s talk about the process.
How to Order + Discount Code
The ordering process is easy and won’t take too long once you have all your photos organised and ready to go. First you pick a book size and theme. There are different pre-made themes that you can use which make it super easy.
They had a bunch of different travel themes but I went with the Botanic Travel option. Don’t worry if you don’t like some of the elements in the theme, you can remove them from individual pages if you like in the editing process.
In the editing page you just upload your photos and add them to the pages in the order you’d like. You can add text, move the positions, change the crop of the photos, make the photo take up the entire page and more. You can add a photo to the front and back cover or choose not to. The site is very user-friendly and intuitive.
There are lots of like clip arts, photo frames and more to make the book shine with your personality and memories. You can preview it to see what it would look like. You can also save it and then come back to it later. Or, if you’re done then you can just check out and wait for your Starbook to arrive.
If you do decide to order a Starbook you can use the code BLOGGTARA to get a 28 page Starbook for €19.99 instead of the usual price of €79 – BARGAIN. The code is valid until 8th July 2020.
Let’s Wrap it up
OK, so I’m keeping it short and sweet with this review, but honestly, there’s only so much to say about a photo book. I love mine, I’m sure you’ll love yours if you decide to get one. Big thanks to Colorland for sending me out the Starbook and for giving me a lovely little discount for you guys.
