At the start of this year, on New Year’s day, I had the opportunity to stay in the Hard Rock Hotel Bali. My mother had travelled all the way from Ireland to see me in Indonesia (Kuta, Bali), so we decided to stay somewhere a bit more extravagant than the norm. The Hard Rock Hotel Bali is a wonderful mix of comfort, luxury and excitement, which enabled us to enjoy our time together and Bali, that bit more. This review of the Hard Rock Bali will cover everything you need to know about the rooms, facilities and more.
Hard Rock Hotel Bali Review
Hard Rock Hotel Kuta Location
The Hard Rock Hotel Bali is located in the perfect spot in Kuta. It’s central and surrounded by all the local amenities you could need. It is within 2 minutes walk from the beach and Poppies 1(the main street), and only 5 minutes walk from the two main shopping malls. It is also set back from the main road on 3 hectares of land so noise is not something you need to worry about.
The Warm Welcome at Hard Rock Kuta
When we arrived we were greeted by several smiling staff, happy to help us with any questions or requests. We were checked in quickly without any wait, how often does that happen in a large hotel?! We were also given a book of vouchers to use within the hotel and it’s surrounding area. In true Hard Rock style the receptionist kindly informed us that if we would like to hire any guitars to play in our room they would be delighted to organise this for us. Neither of us are musicians but it’s nice to have the option!
The Rooms at Hard Rock Hotel Kuta Bali
Our room at the Hard Rock Hotel Bali was a four person room with a balcony. The room itself was excellent but it was all the personal touches that the team at Hard Rock had thought of that really made it spectacular. There were lipstick kiss shaped chocolates on each bed, a plate of the local “snake fruit” on the desk and there was also a hand signed Happy New Years card to us from the Hotel Manager. If that’s not perfecting the finer details then I don’t know what is. It’s safe to say, we were impressed.
Poolside at the Hard Rock
Each wing of the Hard Rock Hotel Bali has it’s own private pool where towels are provided. These offer a quieter alternative to the main Hard Rock pool. The main pool area is sprawling, lively and has it’s own artificial beach. There is something for everyone including a kids club for the younger guests, an in-pool bar for the adults, luxury poolside cabanas that can be rented for the day, water slides and even beach volleyball. The photo to the right does not do it justice!
Food for Thought – Hard Rock Cafe Bali
Breakfast is included in the room rate and boasts a huge array of foods from all corners of the globe. Waffles, fry-up, fruits, omelette (cooked to your request), noodles and so much more. No matter what you want, you will find it here. One thing I would recommend is going to breakfast a little earlier than necessary, otherwise a queue for tables can develop. These are usually dealt with quickly and efficiently by the wonderful staff, but if you go at 8am or earlier you won’t have to queue at all.
If you wanted to eat within the Hard Rock Hotel Bali complex there are several places to choose from. We ate in Splash restaurant by the main pool and we were not disappointed. The service was spectacular, portions were more than enough and the food was delicious. The best part was that it was not at all overpriced -the mains meals were about £5 each. There was also a buy one get one free happy hour which we happily took advantage of.
The Little Things at Hotel Hard Rock
Upon returning to our room after a busy day of shopping or chilling out by the pool we often found magnificent towel sculptures left in our room. The first day it was a towel dog, then there was a towel elephant and a monkey. Another day there was a plate of chocolates shaped like musical instruments. We were excited to return to our room every day to find whatever surprise awaited us. Clearly the Hard Rock Hotel Bali really liked to go the extra mile.
Things To Do
This hotel has something for everybody. If you are looking for a party there is always live music in the main bar area, creating the distinct Hard Rock atmosphere that the chain is famous for. If relaxation is what you’re after there is the beautiful Rock spa area offering all the treatments you could ever wish for. Fancy a bit of exercise then how about the in-house rock climbing wall? Or the state of the art gym? The Hard Rock truly is the kind of place that could almost make you forget that there’s anything outside of it’s walls.
I’ll Wrap It UP
Usually, this sort of hotel may not QUITE be in my budget, but I’ve grown up a bit lately and learned to appreciate that sometimes it’s worth paying a bit extra to be comfortable. Plus, what kind of travel blogger would I be if I didn’t explore all varieties of accommodation?! Rooms start at around £100 per night for a room with 2 double beds including breakfast, and it really is worth it!
