I know, I know, there’s A LOT of Brexit talk going on as it is. But I know plenty of people are unsure about booking their holidays for the coming year because of Brexit, so I had to whip up a post to help. I don’t want anyone missing out on a bit of rest, relaxation and sunshine just because the government is all over the shop. Right, let’s find you a Brexit-proof all inclusive holiday somewhere warm and far away from all this political chaos.
Brexit-Proof All Inclusive Holidays
With all this Brexit uncertainty online travel agency Loveholidays decided to conduct a survey, via OnePoll, of 2,000 people in the UK. The survey’s aim was to gauge the participants’ view on holidays abroad for 2019. Many holiday makers haven’t booked their 2019 holiday yet and the survey indicated that they are more likely to consider an all-inclusive holidays outside the EU due to the uncertainty caused by Brexit. So, basically, no one knows what’s going on and the last thing they want is their holiday being disrupted by passport issues, terrible exchange rates or having unexpected expenses such as vias fees. Hence, the need for Brexit-Proof holiday planning.
According to the survey, it’s us millennials who fear Brexit the most. 25% of 18-34 year olds say Brexit will affect their holiday making decisions for 2019 with 49% of them stating they are now more interested in holiday destinations outside the EU. Christian Armond from loveholidays comments, “With peak booking season for 2019 holidays around the corner, we are anticipating an increase in bookings for all-inclusive holidays. These holidays appeal in the current Brexit climate as there are no hidden extras with the cost of meals and drinks all included!”
Where to go for a Brexit-Proof Holiday
Anywhere outside the EU is an obvious holiday destination for people worried about Brexit. Over 45% of the survey participants would happily consider a holiday in eastern Mediterranean and north Africa destinations such as Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco or Egypt. These countries are well known for their all inclusive offerings and are becoming more popular year on year. Plus, they have incredible weather pretty much year round.
Loveholidays have launched an interactive all-inclusive hotel finder which helps you to find the best all inclusive resorts/hotels according to Tripadvisor reviews and number of bookings. It’s super simple to use and has over 40 destinations listed including places like Abu Dhabi, Jamaica and Turkey. You can choose the destination and then choose the type of resort you’re interested in based on things like spa facilities, adults only etc. Some of my top picks would be Jamaica, Barbados and Morocco.
Jamaica is easily accessible from the UK with direct flights from London and Manchester. It’s an island paradise with lots of adventurous things to do such as climbing waterfalls or feeding hummingbirds. Not to mention wonderful weather as well as delicious food and a vibrant culture. You can read more about Jamaica here.
Barbados is a bright, colourful island which is easily accesible via direct flights from the UK and well known for its all inclusive options. It’s a very safe Brexit-Proof option due to the Commonwealth connection. Bajan food is to die for with lots of spice and colour. Bajan macaroni pie is my favourite! They even have a rum and sugar festival every year. And of course there are all the usual water-sports and beach activities to be done as well. You can read more about Barbados here.
While Jamaica and Barbados can be a bit expensive Morocco is the much cheaper yet equally wonderful alternative. There are a plethora of flights from the UK to Moroccan cities such as Agadir, Marrakesh and Casablanca. The country is full of unique landmarks and culture. Have a cleanse in a traditional Hammam, learn to surf, visit the desert or just go shopping (don’t forget to haggle) in the extensive markets.
No matter where you choose you’ll be miles away from all your Brexit worries, lounging in the sun and enjoying your carefree all inclusive Brexit-Proof holiday.
