The O2 Arena in London is an incredible venue and there is SO much more to do in the O2 than just see a concert. From nerding out at Star Wars Identities to simply catching a movie at Cineworld there’s something for everyone. Bit of an adrenaline junkie (like me)? Check out the roof walk over the top of the O2.
Hungry? I know I always am, haha. There are SO many places for you to choose from. Nandos, Five Guys, Byron Burger, Pizza Express, you name it, the O2 has it. Are you just a giant kid? Then check out the Hollywood Bowl with 12 bowling lanes, an American diner and PLENTY of arcade games.
For the movie buffs there’s the Sky Studios and for the nightowls there’s the Building Six nightclub with a dance floor that reacts to the bass in the music. Well, now that you know what you can do in this bubbling hub of entertainment, all you need to know is the best place to stay near the O2 Arena.
The Best Place to Stay Near the O2 Arena London
I was speaking at an event called Traverse in April. It was held in the Ravensbourne College, just across from the O2. So, naturally, I needed to find the best place to stay near the O2 Arena. After much research and cringing at prices I finally found the London Docklands Travelodge.
It has a DLR stop less than 4 minutes walk away (East India) which meant that I could get to the O2 Arena in just 2 stops. Get the DLR to Canning Town. Then from Canning Town just go one stop on the Jubilee line to North Greenwich and BOOM, there you are, right at the O2’s doorstep. SO HANDY.
Most of you will have stayed in a Travelodge before, so no doubt you’ll know what to expect – comfort, large rooms, great location, a reasonable price and great service.
I will mention that Travelodge in general as a brand don’t have luggage rooms, which I find REALLY weird, but I ended up leaving my bag behind the desk while I was out at the O2 and it was still there when I came back. So hey, maybe a luggage room isn’t that important! I imagine they’re worried about it from some sort of security perspective.
What I LOVED about my stay at the London Docklands Travelodge was that the breakfast buffet had vegetarian sausages! Of course, it had all the regular things like eggs and bacon etc, but being a vegetarian it was the first time in my life that I have ever been served veggie sausages in a hotel. SO IMPRESSED. Room rates start from around £85 per night depending on the day and time of year.

Parking in the O2
If you’ve got a car, finding parking ANYWHERE in London can be a bit of a mission. In fact, hats off to anyone who drives in London. But there are a few options. Here’s a great site where you can find the best parking spots around the O2 and other parts of London.
